Every once in a while, we need to just relax and take a breath. With life being pretty chaotic these last couple of years, we haven’t really been able to take a break and unplug. With the world opening up again, remember to take advantage of your benefits plan to help you de-stress.
Employee and Family Assistance Programs (EFAP) can be crucial in giving us tools to help deal with this newfound buildup of anxiety. It affects everyone differently and there is absolutely no shame in reaching out and getting some help. If you don’t have an EFAP, psychologists and registered counsellors are included on the MCAS plan through Saskatchewan Blue Cross!
The MCAS benefits plan also includes coverage for massage therapy. You do not need a doctor’s referral, and this is a great way to unwind and take some stress off.
Wellness Spending Accounts are great tools for de-stressing. I personally use my wellness account predominately for golf green fees. Lots of people use it for sports fees, or even a new pair of running shoes.
Whether you talk to a counsellor, hit the links, get a massage, or just go for a walk, make sure to get out and enjoy the beautiful summer! And remember to leave your cell phone behind.
