For over twenty years, the Principles of Effective Public Procurement Certificate program (Principles) has been considered the ‘go-to’ course for those launching their public procurement careers. Highly regarded by Ontario public sector employers and learners alike, the program delves into information necessary for both newcomers to the profession and those transitioning from private procurement.
OPBA is pleased to announce that through the Public Procurement Learning Lab, we are piloting 4-day intensive workshop in partnership with Canoe Procurement from October 21 – 25, 2024. Principles instructors Victoria Mirlocca and Carl Bonitto will lead the in-person sessions in Nisku, Alberta just outside Edmonton.
Participants will be required to take the Introduction to Public Procurement module online prior to participation in the intensive program. They must also meet all the program requirements, including completing an elective, participating in two additional courses/workshops, and successfully writing the exam before being awarded their Principles of Effective Public Procurement Certificate. Participants will have the option of purchasing one of two packages: the Principles program only or the Principles Program plus an OPBA membership.
There are no other provincial associations similar to the OPBA in Canada. By offering the Principles Certificate program to participants in another province, our goal is to strengthen the public procurement profession across the country.
Registration for the program will be launched shortly.
